CREEKS TRACK & FIELD TEAM DISCIPLINARY POLICY
POLICY OVERVIEW
This policy sets expectations for Creek’s track athletes, focusing on attendance, behavior, and sportsmanship to foster a positive, respectful, and committed team environment. It ensures fair treatment and promotes teamwork, discipline, and respect.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Commitment:
Athletes are encouraged to attend all practices. Absences from practice may negatively affect an athlete's performance or standing in the event and could prompt a review of their spot on the team.
Behavior:
Athletes must always maintain appropriate conduct. Misconduct may result in disciplinary action as outlined in this policy.
RESPECT AND SPORTSMANSHIP
Policy Statement:
Athletes must respect teammates, coaches, and opponents. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
Expectations:
Treat everyone with respect and kindness. Display good sportsmanship, win or lose. Bullying, name-calling, arguing, or disobedience are prohibited.
First Offense | Verbal warning and notification to the athlete’s parents/guardians. |
Second Offense | An apology and removal of practice privileges for one day. |
Third Offense | Meeting with the athlete, parents/guardians, and coaching staff to discuss further actions in needed. |
ATTENDANCE AT TRACK MEETS
Policy Statement:
Athletes are encouraged to attend and participate in track meets. Regular participation is key to team success and individual growth. Absences or non-participation without valid reasons harm both team dynamics and the athlete’s progress.
Expectations:
· Once signed up for a track meet, athletes are encouraged to show up and compete in their designated events.
· Athletes are encouraged to inform the Administrator or Coach at least 48 hours in advance after signing up for a track meet if they cannot attend a track meet due to illness, family emergency, or any other reason.
